This week’s wintry weather has caught us too! Even on Hvar we have a dusting of snow, swept in on a howling bura for the last couple of days. Daytime temperatures are now close to zero, and due to hit -3 C overnight. We’re all trying to protect our water pipes and citrus trees.
The islands are getting off lightly though, compared to the coast and inland regions of Croatia. I see reports of 1.6 metres of snow, with drifts up to 3 metres in some areas. It makes our covering look quite modest – although it’s a big deal for us! Here are a few pictures from our walk around Vrboska this afternoon before my fingers froze off…

Oh, lovely photos. Snow is a novelty to us here I this part of Australia.
To be honest, snow is very unusual on the island of Hvar, and we’re all enjoying what will be a very short-lived phenomenon!
