Now here’s a challenge – what can you paint with 3 small brushes and a limited range of colours that tends to the cool side? That’s the problem I find myself facing as I completely forgot to bring my usual assortment of brushes! Not only that, but the bag of paint tubes I was depending on to replenish supplies turned out to have a wonderful range of blues and blue-greens, but nothing around the red-orange-yellow side of things! OK, so how do I paint warm scenes with cool colours? Hmmm…

It’s amazing how restricting your choices can spur creativity! I love the subject of rocks and water and I have a set of small canvases to work on. Perfect! Who needs more brushes and colours, anyway!
