Skradin is a place where I’d like to spend more time. It’s in a gorgeous location on the Krka river, with all the glorious nature and historical sites nearby – plus it has a thriving wine and gourmet food scene. We stayed here for a couple of nights while we explored the wines of north Dalmatia and I’d like to share some of our impressions of this lovely peaceful little town.
That waterfront makes for an interesting place to have breakfast, with boats coming and going, and a fisherman patiently working his nets.
In early May, there was an Agro-tourism fair in progress, a large tent filled with colourful local products from food and wine to toys, flowers, clothes and artwork. Not to mention dancers and musicians in local costume, a display of bee-keeping and a local TV crew filming everything!
And here’s my sketch of the dance troop in their rich colourful costumes waiting to go on
